Consultation Services
KidneySPA provides various consultation services to all of our Kidney Disease patients as well as to patients of local physicians' offices and renowned medical centers, such as University of Miami Hospital, Mercy Hospital, and Mount Sinai Medical Center.
Medical Consulting
As part of our on-site consultation services, every one of our patients obtains a comprehensive evaluation with a board-certified nephrologist, who provides expert advice and a detailed plan of care. In addition to CKD, patients are evaluated for renal insufficiency, hypertension, kidney stones (nephrolithiasis), proteinuria, hematuria, and electrolyte imbalance.
Nutrition Consulting
A balanced diet is essential to wellness, particularly for Kidney Disease patients. KidneySPA’s on-site registered dietician assesses our patients’ regular eating habits and suggests modifications. We believe that educating patients, their families, and the community about proper eating habits, diabetes, and high blood pressure can have a profound impact on people’s lives.
Social Consulting
It’s not uncommon for patients and their families to become overwhelmed by all of the paperwork and scheduling involved when undergoing treatment. KidneySPA’s on-site social worker is available to provide expertise and invaluable assistance with insurance forms, special accommodations, psychosocial support and applications for financial assistance. KidneySPA’s social workers help patients and their families to adjust to the changes that accompany kidney disease. They also provide education about kidney transplants and arrange dialysis treatments if you plan to travel.
